The reason so many men like to drive them is because it's like a flashing neon sign that says "I have so much money that I can afford to throw away $65K on an ugly car that gets 5 gallons to the mile". It is the fact that people believe they are in an offroad vehicle and can take on the world. However, they have turned into a luxury vehicle and cannot anymore. There's alot of unsecure people in the world.
Well, they've always been pretty ugly, but they used to be cool. They were one of the only amphibious vehicles that could practically drive on ANY terrain...and were used by the military to do such. NOW, the new Hummers that are sold directly to the public are just over-glorified SUV's driven by wealthy soccer moms. They are just one more way to waste a lot of gasoline...yet those people feel cool because the hummers were once a novelty.What is the fascination with Hummer vehicles????

Amen! Now the old ones that could actually do what they have been doing for years I like. They are still ugly but they sure are fun. Keep your silly Suburbanised versions.
I think it is really a power trip. But I believe gas prices will bring everyone back to their senses.

I don't get it either......it's completely a status thing I guess. Even though they make a "less" expensinve version (the H3), just the fact that you can say you drive a "Hummer" makes some people believe they have some sort of social status. People need to get a life and drive what they like, not what impresses everyone around them!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I eally like the H1's--If I work hard and find myself able to purchase one, I would hate for everyone who can't afford one and doesn't like them to let me know their opinion. That is why there are thousands of different cars. Enjoy that we have so many options in this country--oh and the opportunity to be able to afford those options. Work hard, earn money, and buy what YOU want.
In my own opinion, I would say that hummers are good vehicles. They're nice, big, and look awesome. I am fascinated with hummers because I know it feels safe when you ride them. At the same time, hummers can take you wherever you decide. Even on paved road, dirt road, pumpy road, hills, or etc, but hummers can always move you forward.

They do it for status, so they can be like all the rappers and foot ball players, just like the escalade.



The original Hummer is the only one worth having.
Personally, I think it is the size of them that makes people like them People get noticed and that is what most people want is to be noticed.
Hummer's aren't ugly, their the coolest. They are used by the military, they go off road better then any other vehicle and they just plain look good.
