Would you buy a hummer?

I love the look of the hummer 3. We are not too worried about the gas mileage because we will use the vehicle as a second truck, and parts for the truck will be expensive, we know. We will use it on weekends and such. I know that they will not be made in America any longer, that part scares me a little bit.Would you buy a hummer? Why should where a vehicle happens to be made "scare you", even a little bit? A considerable percentage of domestic brand fleets are assembled outside the U.S., including the 2010 Motor Trend Car of the Year Ford Fusion which is built in Ford's Mexico plant.

The biggest challenges to the Hummer is that the H3 is simply not a well-regarded vehicle. It neither offers the off-road performance for which the Hummer brand became first known, nor does it have the power to overcome all of its other shortcomings to make it worthwhile based upon power alone. The H3 is a watered-down compromise intended to accommodate the tide of anti-Hummer sentiment leveled against the H1 and H2 for both their lack of efficiency and the frivolous indulgence associated with them. Those who buy an H3 do so simply because they like the way it looks, and not because of any competitive advantage.

The biggest problem with owning an H3 from this point forward will be service for it. Dealer ranks have been halved and there's absolutely no reason to believe the Chinese will continue to invest in a vehicle for North America that's already been proven an effective failure with the critical mass of GM behind it. There are relatively few spare parts to begin with, and there's no assurance many more will be produced; and given that almost everything mechanical to the H3 is unique, you don't get the benefit of parts sharing like many Chevy and other GM components that can be used on Pontiac and Saturn vehicles.

Unless you happen to be a collector who wants to keep one parked in a garage just to mark the passage of an era, I'd steer clear of the Hummer and let it either run its course or get a better idea what the Chinese have in store for the brand in North America and its owners (if indeed they intend to keep it going at all, something that's yet to be decided). In the meantime, I'd look at one of the superb Ford F, Super Duty, or even the Explorer, Expedition, or Flex which are much better vehicles with much better prospects for those who own them with the intent of actually using them. It would also be the right thing to do to support the American economy.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.Would you buy a hummer?Would I buy a Hummer H1? Yes. Would I buy a Hummer H2 or H3? No.Would you buy a hummer?Hummer 3 is a joke
