Hummer H2 Tachometer Sticking?

The tach is sticking on my 2004 H2. You can firewall it about 3 times and it will reset, but not for long. How do you fix this? I see there is a place on line that repairs these for $189.00. How do you take the instrument panel out? Also, temp gage went crazy yesterday. Showed overheating. Vehicle was not. I disconnected the battery this morning and that seems to have corrected that for now. Any knowledgable help would be appreciated. If it is still under warranty, they would be able to do this for you at no cost to you.



The IP comes out after removing the Dash face, 4 screws that hold the IP in and unplugging it.
