Since GM is dumping Hummer, I am curious if you'll keep yours or buy another type of off road ride..I love my H-2 and plan to drive it till the wheels fall off.Hummer owners, are you keeping your ride?As for them being a glorified Tahoe, the Hummer H2 has 67 powertrain and frame parts not found in any other GM vehicle, that includes the heavy duty N765 transfer case (unique to the H2 not found in any other GM product), locking front and back axles with hardened pinion gears (unique to the H2), trailing arm slotted rear suspension with high strength steel supports, air suspension with twin bladders for offroading, a frame that weighs 718 pounds more than the Tahoe or Yukon to include 3 stiffeners. The H2 is built at a non GM plant. It's built at the AM General plant where they build military Humvees. It also has strengthened pitarms unique to the H2, power steering coolers in front of the radiator, a transmission temperature gauge, and the rear driveshaft is made out of 121 high strength steel, not like any other GM built product. The air intake for the engine is up higher than any other SUV to permit fording 30 inches of water, and the MAFs (these are produced for AM General only) are unique to the H2 6.0 and 6.2 engine allowing more rich of a fuel flow to increase torque at the lower end.
If you search the web, you will find GM actually lists the unique parts in the H2 by part number and saying it's just a glorified Tahoe, shows your ignorance.Hummer owners, are you keeping your ride?
The Hummer H2 is simply a CHEVY TAHOE with adifferentt body affixed to it's frame. There is nothing particularly special about the vehicle and it certainly does not possess super powers.
Most owners that have them may as well keep them. With the exception of some body panels, spare parts will be easy to source for decades to come.Hummer owners, are you keeping your ride?EnjoyHummer owners, are you keeping your ride?
